Art Class Registration - 11/28/2008

Introductory Fine Arts Lessons will begin January 6, 2009

Students will be given the opportunity to experiment with different mediums and learn basic techniques in drawing, painting and sculpture from Sondra Cross of Metal Sky Media.

Courses will be 1.5 hours/week for 16 weeks at the Kahnawake Youth Center

Group 1 :  Ages 8 - 11
Group 2 :  Ages 12 - 17

Cost is $25 (includes materials)

Limited spots are available.  Registration opens today at the Sports & Recreation Unit. 

The program was funded by the Caisse Populaire Community Development Fund and is held with the aid of the Kahnawake Youth Center.

Kahnawake Figure Skating Pizzathon Fundraiser - 11/22/2008

In order to raise money to help fund the annual show, KFSC is hosting a night at Pizza Hut where you and your family can come and eat with some fellow community and Figure Skating members.

IPAC Walk & Run Event in Kahnawake - 11/22/2008

The Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada will be hosting a 5 km Walk and Run Event in Kahnawake on Saturday November 29th from 10:00 to 11:00 am from the Kahnawake Youth Center.

The KMHA Bantam Boys has five (5) spots available to be filled in their division, for skaters only (no goalies).  Ages 13-14.  Registration fee is $200.00 and deadline is Tuesday, September 30, 2008.  Please pay at the Sports Complex if interested.

2008 KMHA Board Nominations - 6/16/2008

KMHA Nominations were held on Saturday, June 14, 2008.  There were no nominees for any of the 10 available board positions.  Therefore, the nomination period will be extended until this Friday, June 20, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.

Nominations can be made at the Sports & Recreation Unit office during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  The SRU office will be open until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 to accomodate those who cannot make it during business hours.  Nominators do not have to bring along their Nominees with them to sign; however, the Nominee's telephone number is required for the Electoral Officer to contact each Nominee.

If needed, the KMHA Board Election will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2008 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Kahnawake Sports Complex.  For more information, please contact the SRU at (450) 638-2672.

Kahnaw:àke Minor Hockey Association 2008 Elections - 6/10/2008

Nominations for the KMHA Board will be taking place on Saturday June 14th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm at the Kahnaw:àke Sports Complex.

-All Nominees must sign the Background Check Waiver whn ethey sign the Nomination Form

The following positions are up for nomination: VP Development, VP Operations, Treasurer, Fundraising Director, Tournament Director, Equipment Manager, MAGH/Novice Drirector, Atom/Pee Wee Director, Bantam/Midget Director and Regional/Zone Representative.

-Nominees must accompany their sponsors to the Sports Complex to sign a nomination form

-Nominees must be 18 years or older

-Nominees can only run for one position

-Sponsors cannot nominate more than one individual per position

-KMHA Players cannot nominate, run for election or vote

-All KMHA parents and volunteers who have volunteered at least one season are allowed to nominate, run or vote in a KMHA Election

The KMHA Election will take place on Saturday June 28th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm at the Kahnaw:àke Sports Complex

KYC Father's Day Golf Tournament - Open to All - 5/7/2008

The Peru Knight’s of Columbus will NOT be hosting a golf Touranment this year but the Kahnawake Club will be having a golf day.   

NAIG FUNDRAISER - 5/7/2008

There will be a fundraising Spaghetti Luncheon on Friday, May 9 at the Kahnawake Youth Center.  All proceeds go to Team Kahnawake for NAIG 2008.  The time will be 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Please come out and support Kahnawake athletes.

NAHC 2008 Practices - 4/22/2008

Please be reminded of the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships practices tomorrow, Wednesday April 23, 2008 and Thursday, April 24, 2008 for both the boys and the girls teams.  Call the SRU @ (450) 638-2672 for scheduled times.

Women's 35 + Soccer League - 4/15/2008

Accepting players for a Women's Senior Soccer League. 

Play out of Sutherland Park on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 8:30 pm.

Price of registration is $150 per player

There is a dispersal draft for this league, an instructor assesses each player's skills and disperses them accordingly to make the teams even.  Players can be new to soccer or seasoned pros.

Team Kahnawake Fundraiser - Toy & Grocery Bingo - 4/15/2008

Thursday, April 17th there will be a Toy and Grocery Bingo at the Kahnawake Youth Center. 

This is a Team Kahnawake fundraiser, all proceeds will go towards sending the team to compete in Cowichan, BC in August to compete in the North American Indigenous Games. 

Come out, bring the whole family, have fun and support a great cause!

This is a non-smoking event.

-Only parents or designated guardians with children currently registered with the Kahnawake Figure Skating Club can vote.
